“OUR FLOORING IS ALL IN AND IT’S GLORIOUS!!!! I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY!
My husband and I both agree that it NEVER would have happened if we had not hired you. He and I have always butted heads re: de-cluttering & organizing so that step just never would have been taken. And with all the stuff we had everywhere, getting it cleared on our own was not going to happen! Thank you so much.” Jane Elgass, Whitmore Lake

Cynthia, I just want to say a great big thank you to you for the change you have helped me to make, at least in my thinking......unfortunately with the economic climate I have not been able to have you come back since our 2 initial appointments, but I want to let you know what a difference our very first appointment made for me. Since my “Elephant” was so much to tackle, you suggested that we start small, very small, so we tackled my abundance of tea, most of which was the result of gifts. We designated 2 areas in my kitchen cabinets for tea; I got 2 baskets to keep it in and have limited myself to that space. EVERYTIME I go to the cupboard for tea and take out my organized basket, choose my tea and replace the basket to its assigned place, I SMILE and say to myself, THANK YOU CYNTHIA!! It's awesome and there is a peace connected to that action anytime I do it, sounds silly but for me it's true.

When Cynthia came to the Detroit Symphony Orchestra to organize our Special Events props closet, it was like Christmas all over again. We, like many busy professionals, were drowning in our supplies, unable to keep accurate record of what we possessed, what we lent to others, or what was broken or needed replacing. After one afternoon, we were able to walk into the room and our vases, candles, signage, and holiday items were neatly arranged for easy access. After the second visit, we realized we would not have to purchase specialty envelopes for a very long time.
Cynthia’s help provided us the much needed boost to go into the other disorganized closets and we now have a fairly accurate inventory of our props. We highly recommend Eat that Elephant to anyone who has an intimidating mountain of stuff in need of organizing.

I hired Eat That Elephant to help me purge, organize, pack and transport multiple items of varying size and value on a recent downsizing move. Cynthia was most professional and efficient, and had many creative ideas on how to expedite the process and dispose of unwanted usable items. I am completely satisfied and highly recommend Eat that Elephant. Richard Bloomfield Township

“Cynthia came into my life at a time of great upheaval. Caught in the throws of a major renovation, an international move and subsequent separation from my husband, put me into what Cynthia termed ‘situational disorganization’. I was left with piles of papers from the renovation, international residency applications, receipts from the move and a task of duplicating all of my personal papers for a possible divorce. With all of that, I was faced with unpacking dozens of large unlabeled boxes both at
home and in my art studio that had been in storage for 5 years. The task was daunting and a constant reminder of what had just happened in my life. After Cynthia assessed my situation, I was left, with her guidance, to steer our approach to the clutter. This lead from working on the papers first, then to my studio. Each visitleft me feeling a little more in control. I am happy to report on Cynthia’s last visit we were able to pack up most of my husband’s things...so they are not a constant reminder of his absence. There is still work to do......but this is a journey.
Cynthia not only gave me the tools to proceed on my own, she is a professional and compassionate companion while she works by my side. Cynthia’s constant support and understanding remain a brick in my foundation as I proceed forward in this adventure.”

From an owner of two gift shops, I organized her stock rooms and created a training manual with step by step instructions on client, inventory and stock room proceedures.
"To Whom It May Concern: I have known Cynthia Gentit for many years and have always found her to be honest and truthful, with the highest integrity. She was able to handle many diverse assignments, often on a short deadline, which were filled carefully and efficiently. Her skills as an organizer are exceedingly good; but she adds to that another dimension: the eye of an artist. She understands the need to bring style and balance, and has a good eye for mixing diverse items into an attractive display. She has an interest in things that are historical in nature, and a good knowledge of antiques.
I highly recommend Cynthia for whatever she undertakes. Her ability to create order out of chaos is extremely valuable in almost any situation, and her level head keeps calm when all those around her are in a state of panic. She is totally trustworthy and reliable."

From a past client:
Dear Prospective Clients of Cynthia Gentit/Eat That Elephant!,
I hired Cynthia Gentit to help with my daughter’s Bat Mitzvah planning. My requirements for her were to help me with the creative side of planning, decorations, the logistical side of the Bat Mitzvah weekend, and the organizational side of the whole event.
Cynthia and I met on a weekly basis for the six weeks leading up to the Bat Mitzvah. We brainstormed ideas for the decorations, handling the out-of-towner s, and also the plan for the room set-up. Cynthia handled the room set up and all the decorations personally on the day of the event..
Throughout the whole process, Cynthia kept meticulous records. She was always organized and completed every task on a timely basis. She also proved to be very creative and resourceful.
Needless to say, my daughter’s Bat Mitzvah went off without a hitch. Thanks to Cynthia, I was able to relax the whole weekend and enjoy my daughter’s big day. Afterwards she helped me find appreciative “homes” for all the decoration leftovers.
I highly recommend Cynthia for any job. She is bright, dependable, creative and organized. I thoroughly enjoyed working with her and I know any future client will feel the same."

Speaking testimonials:
From a presentation attendee - Trinity Presbyterian Church:
"I loved having you speak at our Mother's Day brunch. What a wonderful way for you to apply your gift of organizing and using it for God. I especially appreciated you little booklet with the resources for giving away used items. I used your tip about sorting before buying containers and it was really helpful. I love to be organized and would like to be more organized because I can think more clearly and enjoy my life more. When I am disorganized it contributes to depression. Thanks so much."

Thanks so much for your talk on organizing. Hearing you enabled me to tackle 3 areas of clutter that had been plaguing me for months – within 2 days of hearing your talk I cleaned off a bookshelf that contained work binders from 20 years ago, organized and decluttered the photos on my refrigerator and most importantly I packed away some boxes from my parents home who passed away within the last year. I had struggled with the emotional task of going through each box and your suggestion to wait and let things settle in a bit before tackling the task was just what I needed to hear. I plan on waiting until some of the grief has lifted to handle the task.
